David is Managing Partner at Celtic House, and overseas the firm’s finance, legal and investor relations functions. Since joining Celtic House in 2000, David has raised over $500 million from institutional, family office, and high net worth investors and led operations for four venture capital funds and multiple special purpose investment vehicles. David has negotiated and closed venture capital investments in over 50 technology companies and represented Celtic House on over 30 M&A and IPO transactions.
David has led investments in and served on the board of over a dozen technology companies, including CanvasPop (acquired by Circle Graphics in 2021), Nuvyyo (acquired by E.W. Scripps in 2022) and Coherent Path (acquired by Movable Ink in 2022). David’s current investments include Fantuan, GrubMarket, Raven Connected, Shopperplus, Snappy, UniOne Foods and UniUni.
Prior to joining Celtic House, David spent five years as a corporate and intellectual property lawyer at Gowling WLG, an international law firm. David received a B.A. from Queen’s University, a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario, and is called to the bar in Ontario.
Tom joined Celtic House in 1996 and has generated $2B of exit value as a lead VC investor across four institutional funds. His primary investment focus is growth-stage SaaS.
He holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto.
He contributed to the development of rock climbing in Ontario and Sweden.
C.J Chen is a Managing Partner of Celtic House Asia Partners. C.J oversees the fund’s operations and leads the fund’s consumer and logistic investments, focusing on leveraging network effects to re-imagine consumer purchases and business procurement across multiple industries.
Prior to Celtic House Asia Partners, C.J co-founded CentreGold Capital, a $25M seed-stage fund focused on consumer logistics and digital health. Throughout his career, C.J has made 15+ investments and is dedicated to supporting immigrant entrepreneurs in North America. C.J currently serves on the board at GrubMarket, Enovation, FanTuan, Saltalk, and Shopper+.
Born in China, C.J pursued studies at Harvard University before settling in Silicon Valley.
Larry Liu is a Managing Partner of Celtic House Asia Partners and leads the fund’s investments in B2B SaaS and Industrials.
Prior to Celtic House Asia Partners, Larry founded GCI Capital, an early-stage B2B fund with international exposure in Canada, the U.S., Israel, and China. Notable investments include Envenio (Acq. by Juul), Applyboard and Quectel (603236. SS). Before GCI Capital, Larry co-founded EffiSolar, a renewable energy corporation focused on wind and solar energy plant development and financing in Canada and the U.S.
Larry got a BA specializing in Economics and Finance from the University of Toronto and an MSc in Business and Management from the University of Portsmouth.
Finance Director
Denis is Finance Director at Celtic Venture Partners and is responsible for the firm’s finance functions. He manages Celtic’s audit process and prepares the quarterly and annual financial reports for all the Celtic funds and special purpose vehicles (SPVs). He also handles new investor onboarding and manages Celtic’s online investor portal.
Prior to joining Celtic House in 2005, Denis was the Controller at Wesley Clover Corporation, the private holding company of billionaire serial tech entrepreneur Sir Terence Matthews. Prior to that, Denis held various financial positions at several technology companies and financial institutions.
